NeuroEd is an Arizona-based, youth-led nonprofit that fosters an understanding of neuroscience and psychology in young people across the world. This includes holding workshops to introduce middle and high-school students to neuroscience and psychology, including anatomical aspects, psychological theories, and real-life applications of technologies for understanding the functioning of the human brain.
NeuroEd was formed by two high school students from Arizona, Janvi Srivastava, and Meenal Srivastava. Everything started when they founded a Neuroscience and Neuroethics Club at their school. Realizing how many young students were passionate about neuroscience and psychology but didn’t know where to start, they decided to expand their work to middle and high school students around the world.
By joining NeuroEd, students will be able to engage in a neuroscience and psychology curriculum that many schools do not offer. They can participate in one of NeuroEd’s workshops, or form their own NeuroEd chapter at their school or community. By creating a NeuroEd chapter, students will be provided with a neuroscience and psychology education toolkit that includes an extensive curriculum, presentations, lab experiments, and so much more!
For students interested in participating in one of NeuroEd’s workshops, our next one will be on July 25th-29th, 2:30-3:30 pm AZ/PST time! Open to students grades 4-12, this free online workshop will cover brain anatomy, careers in neuroscience, an intro to psychology, and so much more! Neuroed's workshop is especially beneficial for anyone interested in taking AP Psychology, as we will cover many fundamental topics from the College Board's certified AP Psychology curriculum. Additionally, you will get advice from other high school mentors with experience with neuroscience and psychology research, including how to secure research
positions in high school.
For students interested in forming their own NeuroEd chapter, NeuroEd will provide you with all the resources and support you need to bring our curriculum to your community!
From detailed slideshows to lab activity guides, you will be able to start your own successful chapter to teach neuroscience and psychology to your peers. If you are interested, please email: jsrivastava2710@gmail
